How to Make a Mygdal Plant Light

Love plants but short on time and space? A mygdal plant light allows plants to grow in windowless spaces such as hotels, restaurants or your small flat with very little effort on your part. In fact, they don’t need to be watered or exposed to natural light. The mygdal plant light makes use of the physical similarities between LED and sunlight, which allows the plants to perform photosynthesis without the big bright sun. Make one day and bring some green into your life!
“Nature contributes significantly to our well-being. Therefore plants are playing a more and more important role in our urban environment. The conditions for growing have always been intensive care and the plenty of natural light. Not everyone has the necessary “green thumb” or enough daylight around. The plant light Mygdal provides a smart way of having living plants even in windowless interiors.”
This plant lamp is perfect because it doesn’t require any human care like ventilation or irrigation to stay looking great. It has electrically conductive glass coating rendering an invisible connection between the power source and the LED. Their understated aesthetic makes them ideal for home or office use. In this way the small glass container can host genuine miniature ecosystems as well as spread a gentle light thanks to their built-in LED; while the design produces beautiful living sculptures.
Step 1: Glass Mold
A template for the glass lamp has to be created to serve as a mold.
Step 2: Carbonization
Then the glass had to be blown for the lamp. Below we can see the glassblower’s molds being carbonized. This helps the glassblowers form the glass into the desired shape.
Step 3: Create Shape
The glass blowers then work the glass to create the shape needed for the lamp.
There are two versions: a pendant lamp and a standing lamp. Both house small plants and use an LED light (replacing the need for exposure to the sun.)
The standing lamp has a special feature. There’s an electrically conductive glass coating (patent pending), which is able to stream the electricity invisibly along the surface. This means there is no cable connection between the power source and the LED light. Incredible, huh?
The lights are a completely self-sustaining ecosystem. According to the creator, the plants can grow undisturbed for years.
