7 Quirky Wedding Favours to Impress Your Guests

In years gone by wedding favours consisted of an organza bag filled with sugared almonds or mini eggs. However, couples are upping the wedding favour stakes by coming up with some very cute, and often personalised, alternatives. Not only do these go down very well with guests, but they can also add a touch of personality to the proceedings.

1. Fun Lollipops

The Little Lollipop Shop do amazing lollies with edible flowers that can be personalised with a message of your choice. Great for summer weddings or couples who want to add some more flowers to their décor, but with a more contemporary twist!

2. Books

If you have the time (and patience!) you could select a book to gift each guest based on their interests or their relationship to you, and they don’t have to break the bank if you go for used books in good condition. Alternatively, inscribe each book with the details of the wedding day, wrap them all in brown paper, and offer a ‘Blind Date with a Book’, letting the guests pick one each as a surprise.

3. A Mix Tape

The mix tape is recognised as a romantic gesture around the world, and music evokes some of our strongest memories. Give your guests the soundtrack to your special day to take home, including tracks such as the song you walk down the aisle to, your first dance song, your Father-Daughter dance song, and key songs played throughout the night by the DJ or band.

4. Mini Spirits

Some couples like to gift mini bottles of booze, with tradition dictating whiskey for the gents and gin or vodka for the ladies. Don’t be afraid to shake this up a little and offer whatever minis you like. You could also personalise the bottles by getting a local printer to do up stickers with the date of your wedding to put on the bottles as a keepsake.

5. Scented Candles

Mini candles such as the Yankee Candle votive make a great wedding favour. Or you could personalise your gift by having a custom made candle just for your big day. Local company The Bearded Candle Makers do amazing handmade candles that come in gorgeous little tins.

6. Festival Style Wristbands

Perfect for couples who love music, give your guests these amazing wristbands from Not on the High Street to celebrate your “wedfest”.

7. Lottery Tickets

Giving each guest a Thank You card complete with enclosed lottery ticket is a great token gesture, and if you’re lucky one of your guests might even win – and share their loot with you.
